A powerful moment for gender equity in deep tech: Hanadi Jabado, Founder and Managing Partner of Sana Capital, delivered a defining keynote at the European Parliament, spotlighting the stark investment gap faced by women in European venture capital. Business Weekly

The event coincided with the launch of a landmark “Gender Gap in Investments” study—sponsored by MEP Lina Gálvez and conducted by a research consortium including CSES, Dealroom, European Women in VC, and RAND Corporation, under the management of EISMEA. Business Weekly

Jabado used the platform to present Sana Capital’s mission compellingly: to back emerging women fund managers who invest in frontier Deep Tech ventures (AI, quantum, biotech, climate). She argued that supporting women fund managers isn’t charity — it’s smart investing. Business Weekly

She also called out “woman washing” — promoting women in visible roles without giving them real decision-making power — insisting that real change comes when women have “carry, votes, and the power to invest.” Business Weekly

Her deeply-rooted experience in building Europe’s innovation ecosystem emerged strongly, too: she referenced her work founding Accelerate Cambridge and the Cambridge Judge Business School’s Entrepreneurship Centre, which backed over 180 startups and helped raise more than £300 million. Business Weekly

Jabado’s presence at the event underlined just how critical Sana Capital’s thesis is: to rebuild European technological sovereignty by investing in long-horizon, science-based innovation. By funding women-led funds, she wants to reshape who holds real power in VC. Business Weekly

In her closing remarks, she made a compelling call for cross-border collaboration and transparency in gender reporting — because to close the funding gap, Europe needs systems, not just good intentions. Business Weekly
